Badgerdog recently restructured, renamed, and redesigned our print anthologies—now Rise: Youth Voices in Ink for elementary school writers and Emerge: Youth Voices in Ink for middle and high school writers—and we thought this change presented a welcome opportunity to revamp our student blog as well.
Several months ago during a Badgerdog brainstorming session, we stumbled upon the name “Unbound” and saw an immediate fit for our online publication. The title speaks to our desire that young writers use creative writing as a way to break boundaries, to free their imaginations, and free themselves. And because the pieces published here exist in the digital ether rather than a bound book, the name seemed even more apt.
So, welcome! We invite Badgerdog students to submit their work any time, and we hope our friends and supporters will visit often for a good dose of unbound imagination, unbound poetics, unbound images and insights.
